February 2014:
When I finally picked up my 1.5 Ravine home, after eventually deciding what resource pack to stick too, I decided to start over with V2.0 in the latest snapshot. The trouble with the old one is - it's a dull ravine. Despite glassing over the top and changing the base level floor to wood - it's a straight ravine. A straight ravine with a small curve of the end, no natural off-shoot caves (So I have to dig any extra rooms), no abandoned minecrart mine.
As well as being 1.5 - so being well before the new biomes and pre-amplified.
In the last world I was passing through the biome with the huge trees and podzol and became inspired to start a home in the middle of the podzol! Not an intended project, but oh well. I let the lines of the ground determine the size of the house, at the moment it's dirt-tastic with mossy cobble corners. But it's going to be a nice size.
I realized when I took this just now, it's not as square as I thought, more long-ish. All these are just temporary walls, I'll mostly likekly add to the side too, so it's not a complete cube or rectangle. Plenty of dirt from leveling inside to do it with. I just have some tall trees to tend to now!:
Resource Pack: Real Life
Marker for canopy roof outside the main entrance:
I've since used one of the clusters of mossy stone and carved into it so it can be a source of infinite water next to the house. Ironically after getting the second water and planting some seeds near the shore, I saw a cave just across from me. When I looked it wasn't just a cave...
It led to a ravine... (Also why this post got delayed after exploring and coming out with lots of iron, some gold, 3 diamonds in a chest and a protection III book.
