OVERVIEW:Never did get to finish off the bathroom, or finish that bridge properly to the mid-sea mountain containing my nether portal. ;-/ As you can play older versions with the dev launcher, I did consider using the seed and going back into that time period and doing it again from scratch if possible. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a single screenshot with the coordinates. Note to self, start a new home, presss F3 for co-ordinates and take a screenshot - just in case! This was one of my favorite worlds as well, and had my most favorite kitchen design.. Here's a look back: The original modern home was never meant to be in a mountain but open ground, but with my main world being in a mountain - when I saw these holes as I passed; I couldn't resist! The strange "Eye" shaped hole in the mountain across the sea, round the back where the nether portal would eventually go: Tidy up: Early days: First texture pack for this world, John Smiths': Change to Soartex texture pack, new kitchen space: Old corridor storage: Bedroom coming along: Kitchen V1: bathroom: V2 Kitchen: Nice long wheat farm: new pitched roofs: Bathroom again:

So I recently returned to an old world, started in snapshot pre-1.9.5 before release, and as it explains there I lost the world and back-up. I tried for a long time to find the same mountain in the world but the snapshot wasn't in the launcher and for over a year, longer I eventually gave up. Eventually I got an idea to manipulate a .json file to give me that snapshot and I got the proper generation of that mountain exactly as it was, all I had to do was re-build it from scratch for modernization eventually. I finally returned to the world yesterday, and I actually had quite a productive day. There are two near surface level dungeons near me, a spider one in front of the home, and a skeleton one right on the coast, which yesterday I turned into a mob farm For clarity on where this is, this picture if from my roof top showing where it is: To the right of where I've circled you can see the log pillars of the official entrance. Having dug out the dungeon and made a water trap I got from something like xp level 10 to 24 from it. I want those good enchants on this world now. I also remembered that in my mine - inside my home, there is a zombie dungeon, so I converted that too! That one doesn't have hoppers yet though to collect items. I will do something with the spider one soon. I also started another major change. At the back of the mountain home, there is another reason that made me set up home here. There is another mountain out the back, across the frozen ocean with a very "Eye" shaped hole in it. This picture is from 2011: In the old days, I bridged across there making a very straight temporary dirt bridge, I knew I wanted the nether portal there. Because of the biome that temporary bridge would always cover in snow. Fast forward and I've actually decided to do something about it and make it more eye like! I got an idea to make an "Iris" in front of the already made portal (From 2011) out of red glass - as it has to be evil! I started with a dirt template and gathered the materials then transformed it. Later I would move the portal more forward in line with it. As you can see by the dirt in the last picture, I'm considering creating an actual eyeball around that - I had white stained glass in mind. Another thing I want to do is eventually get rid of this old farm tower (Created in 2013)as it's ugly: I'm certainly having fun on this world and am enjoying playing it again, and look forward to developing it.

Just had a productive mining session - well for Iron anyway, a bit of gold and lapis and a few diamonds - but not many. Just enough to fix my fortune III diamond pick, and use the spare to do a small fix on my diamond axe. I also had a spare diamond in storage so along with what I found made a diamond sword as well as my iron one was depleting and I have only just got this new iron ore. My resources in this world are primitive compared to my main world. I returned to the mine and gathered up some obsidian to add to the 4 blocks I had, I mined more than needed in-case I saw a blaze in the nether so I can make an ender chest. (I have an ender pearl with me also.). Soon I went across the sky bridge to the great eye in the sky aka "Eye Mountain" which contains my portal and traveled a little way until I could go no further, hitting a nether cliff edge. Here I made a portal to the NU world! aka a new 1.13 chunk... Great spawn, right above the ocean! I thought I could see something on the coast of one of the plates of land, but if was hard to tell from the distance whether it was a ship wreck or just dirt land going into the water. Sure enough it was a ship wreck (In good stead as well!), treasure maps, emeralds, iron ingots and a couple of gold ones, quite a few iron nuggets and coal. The pictures would do it justice more. I noticed there are to ruins by the ship wreck as well, I spent the night un-water-logging the cabin on the wreck that has the door and using one of the other chest to make a double with the one in the cabin and store my goods. The next day I spent a while raiding these two ruins then dry-proofing one of them, in which I did drown, thankfully I can go quick enough back across the sky bridge, through the portal and run to the 1.13 portal and swim to get my stuff. I dried one out anyway and have made the cabin on the ship wreck cosy. Now I just need to find sheep to set my spawn point whilst I'm here.

I finally got back to this older world started in pre-release 1.9.5 - in another mountain home. I had been tinkering with the kitchen previously and went on a big mine session, on the way back through the nether I foolishly was careless whilst getting magma blocks and got lava'd. So I've been hesitant to go back as I knew I'd have to do a big grind again. I don't have many resources in this world - i diamond, no iron after I ran out, but I do have a couple of dungeons turned mob farms . Before going to do a mining grind in a new 1.13 chunk, I demolished the old neutral mob farm monstrosity as it had come to be known. A giant cobble box with different layers. Before the loss I was building a new farm house, so now I have moved the sheep I have finally demolished the old blight of a building. Seen on the right of the home here, this cobble monstrosity stood high: Now all gone! To the very right you can see the dirt skeleton of the new build's roof: After removing the offending building I went through the nether again and explored a nearby ravine and after going in and out 3/4 times after losing my basic stone tools (Via death) The caves off the ravine were okay but nothing special. Eventually I wandered to the point where I accidentally found an abandoned mineshaft, then the real treasure began, 15 diamonds, over 3 stacks of lapis, 2+ stacks of iron a music disc and projectile protection book from a dungeon (both pre-abandoned mine though). There were even more temptations but I sensibly decided to go back with a full inventory before greed took over and would inevitably cause something to happen to me. I did get back safely however, despite being sure something would go wrong with 17 - 19 xp levels as well. Also pre-trip I chopped down a load of oak trees and filled up my basement storage with even more chests. Will eventually be organized. full trip inventory:

I upgraded this world to 1,14 as I had no villager farms/trading halls holding me back, at at first it was just very routine - digging up clay in the local surrounding water to convert this wall near the front door: Now all brick including the low walls, so it looks nice and modern, halfway up the stairs in the wall there's even a "mail box" utilizing an upside down brick stair and spruce trapdoor. Anyway, I went on to do the exterior wall of a recent kitchen extension, but ran out of white concrete. This is where I derped. At first I couldn't make any more assuming I needed a lily of the valley now instead of bonemeal, not realizing I just had to put the bonemeal in the crafting workbench. So I thought - "Okay if I'm gonna do this I'm gonna do it right." So after mining some obsidian I set of to the nether to build a new portal inside much, much further than the first established portal (First after the spawn portal). I had to dig a bit of a tunnel to travel as far as I could to reach a 1.14 chunk and after going through this is what I found: Suffice to say I was elated, especially to find that massive bamboo section in the jungle so close to the portal spawn! I spend a while getting giddy over the pandas (My first actual in game experience), especially when they are eating as they're so freaking adorable!! After travelling and finding said lily of the valley I tried the duplication glitch of building a dirt platform above it to farm them, but I just kept getting red poppies and dandelions. I still came back happy though because of the bamboo and converted it to just under three stacks of scaffolding, and planted the 3/4 left. To work on the interior kitchen extension I needed lots of birch logs and planks so went to my tree farm to cut them all down. As I neared the end, something in the nearby sheep farm caught my eye... At least what I thought I saw, so I had to go down and investigate... Behind the red sheep... I still don't understand how?! No villagers/villager farms/trading ha;s and it randomly appeared? Anyway to paraphrase Hans Greuber "Now I have an enchanted crossbow, ho.. ho.. ho..." What I've been working on the interior kitchen extension. work done: *New flooring *Table & chairs *Snow walls replaced with white concrete *Ceiling fixed from the original mountain/dirt to the show I took down Still need to add glow stone in the ceiling and details, photos also include how the exterior of the mountain home also looks: Work continues...

From the last picture on the last pst not very much has happened in this world. Now however, the world is in 1.17 and great plans are afoot. Sometimes it takes copying the world and using creative to see what improvements you can do to get inspiration and then gather the materials in the actual survival world and do it. So this is the concept for future renovations: (Excuse the crude paint) A huge pitched roof will fir the top of the mountain top with dormad windows so, now more flat roof, the back bhind the upper floor currently (The Bathroom) will also be cladded in brick also and all brick wall edges will be lined with stonebrick stairs (The grey). The extension out near the bottom and next to the water (Currently a small farm) will also be clad in brick with a pitched roof. Speaking of roofs, with the new pitched one on the top floor it'll give me a huge attic, and I will most likekly put a chimney on the outside, on top of the new roof. So far with a lot of renovation to the old roofs and spare birch planks (From removing a birch tree farm where I always ttake these pictures), work has been swift: So far, I've hade a few explorations to get all the diorite to fill in the center betweeen the new pitched attic roof - and to get more raw claw. I'm still going to need a tonne more of clay for all this extra brick work.
